Notification to All Residents: Establishment of Disaster Alert Headquarters and Issuance of “Alert Level 3: Evacuation of the Elderly and Others

Due to the approach of Typhoon No. 10, the Disaster Alert Headquarters was established at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28th. Along with this, “Alert Level 3: Evacuation of the Elderly and Others” has been issued for landslide-prone areas in the Higashiyama, Kamegawa, Hamawaki, Aoyama, Nishi, Minami-Tateishi, Midorigaoka, Shonin, Asahi, and Ohirayama districts. A disaster is expected to occur. Please check the danger level of your residential area or current location, and begin evacuation if you are elderly or require extra time, along with your supporters. Others should also start preparing for evacuation. Note: When evacuating to a shelter, please bring your emergency bag (with food, drink, and personal items) and cooperate accordingly. Opened Shelters: • Kamegawa Elementary School • Kannawa Jigoku District Park Disaster Prevention Training Center • Seibu District Community Center • Noguchi Fureai Exchange Center (with a designated area for pets) • Beppu City Public Hall • Nanbu District Community Center • Higashiyama Elementary and Junior High School You can check the number of evacuees in each currently open shelter from the menu below. Notification to All Residents: Changes in Beppu City’s Garbage Collection Schedule Due to Typhoon

The collection of “burnable garbage” scheduled for Friday, August 30th in Beppu City will be postponed to Saturday, August 31st. However, in the areas of Tenma, Uchiyari, Edago, Kijima, Kogahara, Tanokuchi, Torigoe, Higashiyama 1-2 Ku, Yanagi, and Yamanokuchi, collection will be postponed to the next scheduled date, Tuesday, September 3rd.
